Entuity: Entuity Releases New Version Of Eye Of The Storm: Eye 2008; Improved Service Delivery and Management of VMWare Environments at the Heart of Network Management Suite's New Modules and Innovative Capabilities

(M2 PressWIRE Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)
RDATE:12112007

MARLBOROUGH, MAand LONDON, UK -- Entuity today announces the newest
release of their award-winning Eye of the Storm (EYE) network
management suite: EYE 2008. The employee productivity and financial
gains provided by today's distributed applications, software as a
service (SaaS), and virtualized environments will never be realized on
an insufficient network infrastructure. This fundamental shift in
enterprise applications and contemporary data sharing strategies
between employees places ever increasing demands on the network. To
address this challenge, Entuity has created this new version of their
flagship product.

Available later this month, the new release includes added modules and
core product enhancements in more than a dozen functional areas. These
additions streamline IT service delivery, simplify administration and
control of distributed environments, and expand integration and
automation, while preserving EYE's long recognized ease of use and
price/performance advantage that progressive enterprises, managed
services providers and system integrators prefer. Entuity's EYE
software has been lauded for years, most recently winning an American
Business Award this summer for 'best new product release.' This new
version goes a step further by incorporating an innovative approach to
a growing concern: how to ensure a network is always up to the task of
delivering new network-based services and applications, including those
installed in VMWare-virtualized environments.

According to Dennis Drogseth, vice president of Enterprise Management
Associates, "Entuity has consistently demonstrated strong customer
satisfaction and quick time to value - with large and mid-tier
enterprise accounts. These enhancements extend EYE's functional reach
and pragmatic value, while also addressing new environments such as
VMWare and configuration and providing more defined support for
executives. EMA has always liked EYE's integrated design and is
pleased to see Entuity expanding its very real customer benefits."

EYE 2008: Delivering Faster Time to Value and Greater Return from
Critical Business IT Services

Keeping a network infrastructure delivering optimal value to the
business has become more complex as Web 2.0 has found its way into
enterprise networks. While end users now have the benefits of broader
information sharing across disparate databases, cutting-edge mash-ups,
composite applications, dashboards, and peer-to-peer connections place
increasing demands on the network infrastructure - creating unforeseen
connectivity challenges for network managers. Whether server-based
applications, centralized content management, service oriented
architectures (SOA), or virtualized environments, the network is the
foundational service that must always be available and performing
well. EYE 2008 was tailor-made to help organizations effectively meet
these critical business objectives and improve end-user satisfaction.

EYE 2008's new modules and core enhancements offer:

Streamlined IT Service Delivery - Businesses will now have provable
results via graphically concise executive reports for better decision
making throughout the service lifecycle. Utilities for service
provisioning help organizations quickly provision, modify, and
decommission the management of new customers, networks, and devices.
Critical configuration monitoring functions are automated including
associated alerting to proactively eliminate some of the most common
service impacting network issues.

Improved Administration and Control - EYE 2008 delivers efficient
scalability and administrative control of distributed EYE installations
on the latest operating environments including VMWare. A new module
makes VMs visible and manageable in the context of the overall network
infrastructure so businesses can reap the benefits of virtualization
without running the risk of losing control to "VM-sprawl." New latency
measurement functionality along with new discovery and visual
administrative dashboards help businesses keep their complex
distributed environments optimally deployed and efficiently performing.

Integrated and Automated to Power the Business - EYE 2008 opens EYE's
rich data store of network information and forensics to enable varying
levels of mash-ups, integrations, and automation using the
methodologies desired by IT professional and business users alike. A
new application flow integration module and an updated wireless module
provide businesses better control and predictability of user activity,
capacity planning and traffic engineering, proactive infrastructure and
security analysis, and service level reporting for accounting and
billing.

"Just as our customers rely on BMC Software solutions to automate and
align their IT infrastructure and operations to the needs of their
businesses, the solutions we use to manage our internal network and
systems must do the same," said Jim Thorpe, director of Global
Infrastructure Engineering at BMC Software. "EYE 2008 offers features
that help ensure our network is delivering value to our business, with
new features such as built in latency measurement, automated network
discovery, configuration change monitoring, and data export server."

"While companies are embracing new technologies such as virtualization
and service-oriented architectures, they are likewise apprehensive
about the increased burden and complexity they introduce to their
networks," said Michael Jannery, president and CEO of Entuity. "With
support for the latest operating environments and technologies,
out-of-the-box dashboards for instant insight, and unrivalled openness
and access to management data that properly belongs to the company, not
to the network management vendor, EYE 2008 is unique in helping service
providers and enterprise IT staff realize and assure maximum benefit
from their business services, and to conclusively prove they were
delivered."

Availability

Eye of the Storm 2008 will be available at the end of November, and
runs on Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Sun Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise
Linux , and VMWare ESX Server. Entuity is also actively seeking
channel partners globally who are looking to complement their current
framework or elemental tools offerings with the scalable,
easy-to-deploy EYE 2008 management suite. For more information about
